IRC is Internet Relay Chat, one of the oldest forms of multi-party text chat, to take notes and coordinate the conversation here
Unlike Yahoo Chat, it does not require registration, but it does require client software that understands IRC.
If you are running the open-source Firefox browser (which we recommend highly), you have a quick way to add IRC by installing the extension called Chatzilla.
Microsoft's Internet Explorer does not yet feature IRC, but you can install mIRC or many other client apps.
