Clean information is priceless; richly indexed and tagged info even better. Getting there, as anyone who wrestles with big databases probably knows, is tough.

Google has been creating services that encourage large players to submit their data in orderly ways. If market dynamics play out as Google hopes they will, Google Base and Google Coop may well make the flood of information easier to navigate.

With our returning guest host Al Chang, we'll investigate:

• What exactly are Base and Coop? Why would someone use them?
