The Victoria Free School is an exciting new school in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, which offers free courses, lectures, and workshops to the general public. The VFS is run by its own students and facilitators, giving its members the freedom to take control of their own education. The VFS is open to everybody, free of charge.

The VFS is open to everyone, free of charge. As a school that is built for and by its community, it is only as strong as its membership. So, if you're interested in the free school, we would love to have you as a member. The best way to keep up do date with VFS events and news is to join our mailing lists by using the boxes at the bottom of this screen. You can also fill out the Membership Form to let us know more about you and how you see yourself becoming involved with the VFS.

Now accepting course proposals

Our first full semester will begin in January, 2005, but we will be holding some lectures this fall. If you would like to propose a course, please click here to do so. You can propose to facilitate a course on any topic that you like, provided it doesn't disagree with the school's Aims and Principles. You also have full liberty to decide the format of your course.
