Take a Tour
As they develop, ideas for quests and various projects will be listed here.
Idea: Use Line Rider as a fun tool to develop and log quests. See it at: http://official-linerider.com
Line Rider is a fun world where you can create an unbroken line or curves in a world as big as you want. You can also have pictures/writing on various places close to the line. When completed, a little figure skis down the line. Great fun. Many folks create elaborate lines, save them, and post them on YouTube.com. Your students might do the same with a quest they are documenting:
- Have individuals or groups create logs of what they read as the little skier slides down lines past books.
- Use the skier to log progress and barriers encountered through a research project, a community project, etc. Have students create paper logs first, then design their logs on line. Show the line rider movies and talk about the obstacles met and how to overcome them the next time a research project or other quest is done.
- Have students chart (predict) their quest on Line Rider, then create a new line of what really happened.
- Have students create a recommended "line" of books to read for a friend or as a part of a challenge to another group or school.
- Have several classes in a school use the same Line Rider to chart their quests. Allow students to compare what is going on in the various quests by following the various lines.
