IFC CONSULTATION on Draft Guidance on HIA The
IFC is requesting comments on its draft Introduction of Health Impact
Assessment. This new publication presents pragmatic approaches to
assess and address potential health impact of projects on local
communities.
The draft is posted on our website for public review and comment for 30 days, from December 16, 2008 to January 15, 2009 (See following link). http://www.ifc.org/ifcext/sustainability.nsf/Content/ PublicComment_HealthImpactAssessment The draft has undergone internal consultation, and has benefited from comments from WHO as well as industry groups. Comments received by the deadline will be taken into consideration by the authors and incorporated into the revised version of the publication, as appropriate. While we are unable to respond directly to all comments received, we would ask parties providing feedback to check our website in the weeks following the end of the comment period for the final version of the Introduction of Health Impact Assessment. Once finalized, the publication will be available for download from our website as well as in hard copy. Thank you in advance for taking the time to review and provide feedback on the draft Introduction of Health Impact Assessment. They look forward to receiving your comments. Please send your comments to performancestandards(at)ifc.org

The beauty of wiki is that anyone and everyone can get involved in updating and adding to the knowledge and information on this site. And thereby helping to make this a living and dynamic resource that enhances and develops HIA theory and practice.
