CHINA DIGITAL SPACE (beta)
- all about China, from the timely to the timeless
China Digital Space (CDS) is a collaborative knowledge commons on China. CDS is currently being developed and welcomes your contributions--including papers, documents, links, and other resources about China's politics, economy, society, culture, history, and international relationships--as we construct the site. This Web Forum/Wiki is a sister project of China Digital Times (CDT). Run by the Berkeley China Internet Project out of the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California at Berkeley, CDS/CDT aims to use the new generation of participatory media technologies to create a fully interactive network that will track and report news, facilitate conversations and debate, and share resources and knowledge in a virtual China community.
Our goal is to harness the distributive power of the Internet to advance the world's understanding of China. In a time of profound transformation, CDS/CDT takes an innovative approach to one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century: China's democratic transition, sustainable development and peaceful emergence in the global community.
