posts/discourse:

I think that there is a limit in regard tonumber and size of windows (This is a response to Ryan's statement, not MH17). Think about the times when the most people will be at the hut site, while it is dark. I believe the need to warm and cool the hut to make it comfortable is more important than the view of a darkened forest. However a large covered, but not climate controlled area can allow for such views. South-facing windows are a great source of passive heating, but may not be the view you bargained for.
Check out the view. [Katie Simpson?]

I don't think there's such think as a bad view when your situated in the middle of such amazingly beautiful mountains (some views may be better or more meaningful than others).  i think a lot of the provided photographs did not give justice to the site. {Pamela Raetz}

The first thing that caught my eye on this project was its great use of windows.  There can never be enough windows, especially on a mountain hut.  The hut also has a very warm and natural feel with the exposed beams from the ceilings.  The idea to use solar energy is a good one that i think more people should employ.  Im not so sure about using the grey water to shower.  Its almost a bit unsanitary.  Its a good idea to recycle everything possible, but clean water is neccessary. -Ryan Stephenson Try researching grey water beacause you obviously have no clue what your talking about! << okay very very positive, i like it (please tell me you sense the sarcasm). for gosh sake, calm down! -UelB
try doing something besides reading a dictionary.  i know the definition, but i also know first hand what grey water is.    have you ever seen or smelled grey water?   i somehow doubt it.  ive been around shelters and campgrounds for the better part of my life.  theres a reason that there are recepticles for grey water and its not simply re-used.   its a good idea for the toilets, but i think that i would pass on your shelter if i turned on the shower and smelled the water coming out.  dont be so childeshly defensive. and then maybe claim your accusations-Ryan Stephensoni researched grey water. no, i do not have your "first hand" experience with it however.  But, what i read was that the water was actually cleaner than the water when it first comes in.  I am guessing that they have made some improvements since you last experienced grey water.... also, it seems like the hostility that is forming on the wiki is from making comments that are really just how you feel... not the actual fact..  and that is fine but you need to state it as an opinion (for example previously i stated that i "was guessing") not like your trying to make it a fact.... does that make sense?  i am not trying to be mean i am just trying to help yall.  Shelly Martin
hey shelly,  can you tell me the process of grey water?  there are ways of purifying it, i am sure, but i am wondering how.  can you share with me.  it seems like a very neat idea, but if what ryan is saying is true, in most cases i would probably not want to use it either.  do you know any innovations in the process, or what could make it stink as ryan had said.
also in defence of the project, it seems like it would be hard to get fresh water up to the mountains, and anyone there would probably be happy with a shower anyway they could get it.  i dont know...  can you tell me more?

#17 When people think about very simple and to the point, they need to look at hut number seventeen.  This layout is very nice and clean, with different views of the hut.  Containing every thing you need to survive in the middle of the mountain land.  It has a lounge area in the front of the building surrounded by windows.  You can find the kitchen and restrooms in the middle of the hut.  Also, in the back is where you can sleep, it contain a verity of double and single beds, in a raw of six.  I like this hut because they design it to fit the outside surroundings. I really love the use of windows in this project. I agree with Ryan, there can never be too many. By having a lot of windows, this hut is incorporated with the outside surrounding area. I really like the fireplace also. The only thing that bothers me is the bathrooms seem too close to the sleeping area. -Taylor
