Beowulf King Hrothgar of denmark, a descendant of a great king, enjoys a prosperous and successful reign. He builds a great mead-hall, called Heorot, where his wariors can gather to fellowship. however all of this is destoryed by a monster named Grendal who terrorizes the them every night, they suffer of years. Finally a Geatish warrior named Beowulf comes and defeats all that threaten Heorot. This includes Grendal, Grendal's mom, and later a dragon that threaten Beowulf's own kingdom. This is a great Epic peom that tells a lot about the beginnings of literature.
