<FONT size=2>Directed by Tony Kaye American History X is a cinematic masterpiece.  Using black and white film to portray past actions and colored film to represent present.  Kaye filmed the story of Derek Vinyard's, Edward Norton, transformation from the skinhead culture that reveard him to his reentrance into a more realistic view of the world.  Set in a small suburn in California Derek murders two blacks as they tried to highjack his car.  This gruesome scene lands him in prison and begins his self realization that what he is feeling is wrong, unbalenced, and unhealthy.  As he discoveres the errors in his past actions he is made aware that his brother Danny, Edward Furlong, not only idolizes him but is following in his footsteps.  Wh
