Library Cards for Faculty-Staff-Alumni  (see also Add - Edit A Patron )

Faculty, alumni and staff need to know their barcodes to reserve, hold, request and view their library record both at work and at home.

Faculty and Alumni are not automatically given IDs that have their barcodes on them, like students are. So we have to give barcodes to them if they don't already have one on record.

  1. Ask for ID.
  2. If they don't have an Antioch ID, search Voyager for their name.
  3. If they are in Voyager and have a barcode, go to "Edit Patron."
  4. Go to the barcode tab and see if they have to correct Patron group.
  5. If not, see Add - Edit A Patron under number V: Editing Barcode / Patron Group.
  6. If they are not in Voyager, add a Patron record with a new barcode.

Cards have been issued in the past to give Patrons barcodes. These are obsolete now, as most of the Patrons we will be dealing with already have barcodes, but don't be scared by them.

If you see one of these cards and the Patron doesn't have a barcode in Voyager, add the barcode on the back of the card to their record.
See Add - Edit A Patron for more help.

Any staff/faculty/alumni Patron who does have neither a card nor a barcode in Voyager you can issue a new yellow card. The cards are in the card catalog cabinet in the front desk area under 'Library Cards'. You'll find blan, new cards in the back of the drawer, new barcode labels as well as an example of how to fill out the new card in the middle section. Once you have the new Patron card filled out scan the new barcode into Voyager as per the instructions in Add - Edit A Patron

Once the Voyager account is updated, the yellow card goes into the front of the 'Library Cards' drawer in alphabetical order. The Patron does NOT get the card.
