AV Digital Still Cameras
Location: Battery Station
Note: These cameras seem to prefer non-rechargeable batteries. Do not circulate the rechargeable batteries and charger with them.
We have two different digital cameras. Both are located in AV room next to the handheld camcorders. Before checking a camera out, ask the patron if they have used the camera before. If they have not:

The Olympus Camera (#1):
- Show the patron how to turn it on by sliding the lens shield.
- Show them how to turn camera to "play" by sliding the lens shield closed until it clicks (do not cover the lens). Double click the "Quick View" button to review photos.
-
Turn it off by sliding the lens shield until it clicks, waiting for the lens to retract, and then sliding it all the way.
- Show the the patron where the cords are in the case.
- The last step is to wipe all pictures from the camera's card by using the menu. While in "play" mode, click "Mode Menu" then click "Card Setup" (under the "Card" tab), then click the squiggly arrow twice. Select "All Erase". You get a message "Caution: Erasing all." Select "yes" and bingo, all the photos on the card in the camera are erased.
- Pack the camera in the black case with the USB download cable.
- Note: This camera doesn't seem to like to upload pictures using the leftmost front desk computer's front USB port.
