Items Marked as "Lost"


If a patron reports that a book is not on the shelf, or that they have returned a book they are now being fined for: 

  1. First check the shelf with the Patron. Make sure the book was not misshelved and nearby

  2. Check the reshelve carts behind the front desk

  3. If you find the book and it was our mistake: apologize and forgive all fines

  4. If you can't find the book: write down book title, author, and Patron's name. Email this information to Cary Jardine


If a book (or other media or equipment) is returned and Voyager reports it as lost:

  1. Discharge book.  Make sure book is discharged from the Patron's account.

  2.  Click on the "Patron" icon immediatly after you discharge the item(s).

  3. Copy down the Patron's name and give to Fine & Fees Guru (currently Cathy) to follow up and take care of all fines/fees/lost item fees. They may have been in communication with the Patron so it's important to just leave it up to the fines and fee person as it stands now.

  4. "Lost" AV Equipment- similar deal but goes to Ken/current tech person with a note containing Patron's name.
